Abstract

The working papers, personal and organizational correspondence, publications, and biographical materials of John P. Buwalda and his wife, Imra Wann Buwalda, form the collection known as the Papers of John P. Buwalda and Imra Wann Buwalda in the Archives of the California Institute of Technology. John P. Buwalda was the first chairman of the Geology Division of Caltech, beginning in 1926. Imra Buwalda was a pioneer in the study and practice of criminology, particularly as it affected juveniles and women.
